PS Portrait Project
Arriving in Palm Springs in the summer of 2019 we found ourselves in the midst of a vibrant, creative community which included artists, filmmakers, photographers, writers, designers and preservationists. As photographers and award winning documentary filmmakers with an anthropological bent, we were inspired to capture this moment and this desert community at home.
In April of 2021 (post Covid lockdown) we embarked on The PS Portrait Project, creating carefully composed formal, environmental portraits with an eye for the details in the subjects’ home environs. At the project’s core is a strong sense of personal style. The only rule is that the participants must “dress up” which we feel adds a sense of dignity and decorum seldom seen these days.
With over 70 portraits captured thus far we have begun work on our book, “Desert Dwellers, The Palm Springs Portrait Project.”
